Welcome to the Bay State Chapter of the National Council on Black American Affairs(NCBAA),

It is my honor and pleasure to serve as the chapter’s president. We are comprised of the 15 community colleges in Massachusetts, and were officially recognized as a chapter in 2021. In addition to holding monthly professional development and social networking sessions.

We organize and offer the following annual events:

  • Kwanzaa recognition

  • African American Read In (February)

  • Community College student trip to HBCU’s

  • Strategic planning board retreat

  • Juneteenth recognitions

  • Annual chapter-wide conference

  • Black Graduating Student Recognition Ceremony

Our affinity chapter is part of the Northeast Region: (Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, Rhode Island, Vermont and the U.S. Virgin Islands).  The focus of NCBAA is to support Black students and staff in community colleges. Specifically, we exist to ensure Black students graduate, transfer, and/or attain their educational goals and Black staff thrive in their higher education careers.
